Associate Director, R&D IT Portfolio Delivery Lead

What you'll do

• Manage the delivery and execution of the R&D IT project portfolio aligned with strategic priorities.
• Oversee financial management including budgeting, forecasting, and tracking expenditures for investment and operational projects.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for providing portfolio updates and translating technical data into business insights.
• Monitor portfolio-level risks, issues, and dependencies to ensure timely resolution and escalation.
• Coach project managers and serve as an escalation point to ensure delivery excellence and risk mitigation.
• Track key performance indicators and objectives to assess portfolio health and value realization for leadership.
• Implement Agile methodologies and foster a culture of continuous improvement through feedback loops.
• Ensure all project activities comply with pharmaceutical industry regulations and internal company policies.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in IT project management.
• At least 3 years in a portfolio or program management role, ideally within pharmaceutical research or life sciences (preferred).
• Proven experience managing complex IT project portfolios in a research or pharmaceutical environment.
• Demonstrated expertise in financial management, including budgeting and forecasting for investment projects and operational support.
• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical industry regulations and compliance requirements such as GxP, FDA, and GDPR.
• Experience implementing and scaling Agile methodologies like Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe across teams and portfolios.
• PMP, PgMP, or Agile certifications such as Certified ScrumMaster or SAFe Agilist (preferred).
