As an Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Engineer, Senior, you will join the team to support cyber and intelligence analysts by translating complex, time-sensitive workflows into effective AI-enabled capabilities. You will work directly with mission users to capture operational decision points and build solutions including LLM-powered workflows, agent-based automation, or hybrid approaches designed to streamline analytical tasks and improve data accessibility in high-tempo environments. Your daily responsibilities involve collaborating with operators and developers to integrate systems into production while adhering to security protocols for classified environments. You will utilize Python and potentially leverage frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, PydanticAI, CrewAI, PyTorch, TensorFlow, vLLM, or llama.cpp. The role focuses on solving critical national security problems by automating multi-step reasoning and integrating AI with enterprise data stores and mission platforms within restricted environments.
Capture and document complex mission workflows from cyber and intelligence analysts.
Translate operational decision points into structured process maps and automation requirements.
Design and implement LLM-powered workflows and agent-based automation systems.
Integrate AI systems with APIs, enterprise data stores, and existing mission platforms.
Develop multi-step reasoning and tool orchestration for high-tempo environments.
Ensure AI solutions perform reliably within secure, classified, and governed environments.
Build software using Python and specialized frameworks like LangChain or PyTorch.
What we're looking for
TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering, data science, or software engineering within cyber, intelligence, or national security environments.
6+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering, data science, or software engineering within cyber, intelligence, or national security environments in lieu of a degree.
Experience capturing user workflows and translating them into structured process maps, automation requirements, or executable logic.
Experience designing or implementing LLM-based or agentic workflows, including multi-step reasoning, tool integrations, and orchestration.
Experience integrating AI systems with APIs, enterprise data stores, or mission platforms.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python.
Experience with on-premise/multi-classification environments, AWS/Azure, LLM frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph), ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow), and cyber/intelligence workflows (preferred).
