Applied Machine Learning Engineer, Localization

What you'll do

• Lead the exploration and application of Large Language Models (LLMs) for translation tasks.
• Translate cutting-edge research into high-quality systems and models for practical machine translation.
• Manage all aspects of model development including ideation, training, experimentation, and deployment.
• Develop and maintain features, frameworks, and tools to facilitate the software translation process.
• Adapt pre-trained LLMs for specific downstream localization tasks.
• Implement machine learning solutions to improve localization for Xcode and other Apple products.
• Fine-tune and train models to improve the quality of internationalized software.

What we're looking for

• MS in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or Machine Learning (or equivalent experience).
• Experience with Machine Learning, specifically Large Language Models (LLMs) and Natural Language Processing (NLP).
• Comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience with fine-tuning approaches and training models.
• Proven ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply cutting-edge research into consumer-oriented products.
• Experience adapting pre-trained LLMs for downstream tasks.
• Experience in software Localization / internationalization (preferred).
• Familiarity with Localization standards and technologies such as Unicode, XLIFF, and ICU (preferred).
• Proficiency with Python, C, C++, Objective-C, and Swift programming languages (preferred).
