As the Applications Development Lead, you will spearhead the modernization of mission-critical systems for a high-visibility national security customer. You will lead multiple agile development teams to design, implement, and operate DevSecOps practices across a portfolio of applications hosted on AWS infrastructure, containers, and serverless platforms. Your daily responsibilities include overseeing CI/CD pipelines, standardizing infrastructure-as-code modules, and integrating automated security controls into the delivery lifecycle. You will also manage program analytics, mentor engineers on automation best practices, and integrate AI-enabled tools to improve developer productivity. The role requires expertise in Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, ArgoCD, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform. You will solve complex technical challenges by ensuring scalable, secure configurations for cloud environments while providing strategic technical advisory to leadership regarding infrastructure performance and cost optimization.

What you'll do

Lead multiple agile teams in designing and operating DevSecOps practices for cloud, container, and serverless applications.
Define and manage the organization's DevSecOps roadmap, standards, and best practices.
Architect and oversee the implementation of CI/CD pipelines using Infrastructure as Code (Ia1) modules.
Integrate security controls into every stage of the development lifecycle to ensure compliance with regulations.
Develop AWS engineering standards and perform cost analysis to optimize cloud spending and performance.
Identify and implement AI-enabled tools to automate workflows and improve developer productivity.
Monitor program metrics, including Jira velocity and delivery milestones, to identify risks and blockers.
Serve as a technical advisor to leadership by translating complex technical issues into executive communications.

What we're looking for

Must be a United States citizen.
Must possess an active Top Secret SCI with Polygraph clearance.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
10+ years of experience in software development, DevOps, or platform engineering roles.
3+ years of experience leading multiple agile teams or in a similar leadership role like release train engineer or delivery manager.
Experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, or ArgoCD.
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), serverless architectures, and Infrastructure as Code.
