The Apple Vision Product Design Engineering Program Manager joins a team responsible for delivering the mechanical assembly of the Apple Vision Pro spatial computer through its entire program life-cycle. This hands-on programmatic role involves driving development from architecture definition and early design through to mass production. You will manage streamlined schedules, lead cross-functional progress with teams including Product Design, Industrial Design, Materials, Manufacturing, SoC, Display, Camera, Antenna, and Battery, and oversee manufacturing and assembly at contract manufacturers. Key responsibilities include presenting status updates to executives and managing DFM, FAI/CPK, and QC. Required skills include mechanical or electrical engineering experience, knowledge of manufacturing processes and tooling timelines, and the ability to navigate ambiguous environments to integrate multiple technologies into a complex hardware product.
Deliver the mechanical assembly through the entire program life-cycle from architecture definition to mass production.
Create and maintain streamlined schedules to drive cross-functional progress across multiple engineering teams.
Manage manufacturing and assembly upstream and at the contract manufacturer through on-site China trips.
Present multiple levels of status updates to organizational leaders and executives.
Engage with manufacturers on DFM, FAI/CPK, quality control, and production timelines.
Serve as the primary point of contact with vendors to establish daily build plans and objectives.
Anticipate functional roadblocks and prioritize parallel closure paths to keep the program on track.
What we're looking for
4+ years of combined experience in program management and mechanical/electrical engineering delivering products comprised of multiple materials.
Experience leading full life-cycle product development in dynamic environments, supporting mechanical assembly and integration of multiple technologies.
Excellent communication, teamwork, cross-functional engagement, and strong presentation skills.
Ability to anticipate functional direction and roadblocks, prioritize parallel closure paths, and distill data for leadership.
Experience engaging with manufacturers on DFM, FAI/CPK, QC, and production timelines.
BSME/SE/EE degree or equivalent; MS degree (preferred).
Experience working with Product Design, Industrial Design, Operations, and System Architecture (preferred).
Shipped multiple full life-cycle programs with experience in early architecture, development build NPI execution, and mass-production (preferred).
