What you'll do

Ensure the performance of Private Cloud Compute running Apple Intelligence in the cloud.
Define power and performance targets for Apple Intelligence products in collaboration with architecture teams.
Develop automation and infrastructure tools to evaluate product performance.
Optimize performance across the entire stack, from SOC hardware to platform and software layers.
Model and debug Transformer models, LLM inference, and training processes.
Implement and coordinate telemetry using monitoring and observability tools like Splunk, Grafana, and Prometheus.
Troubleshoot, debug, and reproduce complex system issues across cloud operations.
Analyze large datasets using SQL and platforms such as Hadoop, Spark, or Snowflake.

What we're looking for

Must have 10+ years of experience as a Performance Engineer.
Must possess an M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
Experience in data and AI fields including software architecture, AI engineering, or data science is required.
Must have experience with both traditional ML systems and GenAI LLMs.
Requires in-depth professional experience with cloud operations.
Must have a strong understanding of hardware components and hardware/software interaction.
Must possess knowledge of network technologies, protocols, and procedures for iOS and macOS.
Proficiency in C/C++, Python, Swift, SQL, and Shell is required.
