TL;DR · Analog Simulation and Env Automation CAD Engineer

The Analog Simulation/Env Automation CAD Engineer joins the team of CAD engineers to develop, maintain, and enhance custom analog power intent methodology and circuit ERC solutions for transistor level analysis on Analog, RF, and mixed-signal designs. This role involves building and validating custom SPICE simulation flows, developing automation scripts, and creating next-generation in-house EDA CAD flow solutions. The engineer will solve issues related to transistor level simulations using Spice simulators in command-line and Virtuoso environments while guiding designers through tool issues in ADE, XL, Maestro, and OCEAN. Required skills include proficiency in Perl, Python, TCL, SKILL, or Shell for automation. Technical expertise includes experience with Spectre, Hspice, and ADS, as well as knowledge of AC, DC, Tran, Harmonic Balance, and S-parameters to address simulation accuracy, speed, and capacity issues across various technology nodes.

What you'll do

  • Develop and maintain custom analog power intent methodology and circuit ERC solutions for transistor level analysis.
  • Create and optimize CAD flows for analog circuit SPICE simulation, netlist generation, and design environments.
  • Resolve technical issues related to transistor level simulations for Analog, RF, and Microwave applications.
  • Build automation scripts using Python, Perl, TCL, or SKILL to support rapid and dynamic design needs.
  • Architect next-generation in-house EDA CAD flow solutions for analog and mixed-signal simulations.
  • Guide designers in resolving tool issues within the Virtuoso and ADE environments.
  • Analyze waveforms and process results data to improve simulation accuracy, speed, and capacity.
  • Evaluate EDA tool products and collaborate with vendors to meet specific design requirements.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor of Science degree and 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Experience in SPICE simulation and design environments for Analog, RF, and microwave circuit domains.
  • Proficiency in programming and scripting using Perl, Python, TCL, SKILL, or Shell.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of circuit simulations with Analog/RFIC design and CAD automation across various technology nodes (preferred).
  • Experience with Cadence ADE environments including Virtuoso, PDK, CDF, and OCEAN tools (preferred).
  • Knowledge of specific Spice simulators such as Spectre, Hspice, ADS, or GoldenGate (preferred).
  • Ability to solve simulation accuracy, speed, and capacity issues involving AC, DC, Tran, and Harmonic Balance (preferred).
