What you'll do

Architect and develop instrumentation platform capabilities used by engineers across Apple products.

Translate requirements from feature teams into scalable platform APIs and developer tools.
Drive technical strategy and roadmap decisions in collaboration with engineering leadership.
Establish and uphold software design best practices, API principles, and code quality standards.
Identify platform gaps to improve developer velocity, system reliability, and data fidelity.
Communicate complex technical decisions clearly to both engineering peers and non-technical stakeholders.

What we're looking for

Hold a BS or MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
Have 8+ years of experience in platform, systems, or framework software engineering.
Demonstrate proficiency in Swift, Objective-C, or C++.
Possess a deep understanding of OS internals, concurrency, and memory management.
Experience designing and shipping developer-facing APIs and scalable software frameworks is required.
Ability to communicate technical decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience with telemetry, analytics, observability systems, or privacy-preserving data collection is preferred.
Familiarity with ML systems and techniques related to instrumentation and feature logging is preferred.
