The Active Directory Systems Administrator supports the CIS team by sustaining and securing enterprise directory services across complex, multinetwork environments. This role involves maintaining Active Directory forests, domains, and trust relationships while ensuring directory service availability for authentication, authorization, and identity management. Key responsibilities include managing Group Policy Objects, troubleshooting DNS integrated functions, and overseeing Kerberos/NTLM authentication. The administrator will perform domain controller deployments, schema extensions, and lifecycle upgrades while monitoring replication status and event logs. Required technical skills include Active Directory Domain Services, Active Directory Federation Services, and experience with STIGs and patching workflows. The position addresses the technical challenge of providing reliable identity-driven capabilities and secure configuration baselines to underpin critical mission systems within a distributed enterprise infrastructure.
Administer and maintain Active Directory forests, domains, trust relationships, and replication services.
Manage identity services including DNS, authentication protocols, group memberships, and object lifecycles.
Create and troubleshoot Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to enforce secure configurations across networks.
Provide Tier 2/3 support for complex AD, DNS, and authentication issues in distributed environments.
Execute domain controller deployments, schema extensions, and lifecycle upgrades.
Monitor AD health, replication status, event logs, and performance to ensure service availability.
Perform patching, vulnerability remediation, and compliance tasks for directory-integrated systems.
Maintain technical documentation for directory service configurations, baselines, and operational procedures.
What we're looking for
Must possess an active Top Secret SCI clearance with a favorable polygraph.
Must be a US citizen.
Must have 8+ years of related experience.
Must have a Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field or 8-12+ years of relevant IT experience in lieu of a degree.
Must meet DoD 8140 Information Assurance Workforce certification requirements (e.g., Security+ CE).
Must have hands-on experience administering Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and authentication services in enterprise or multidomain environments.
Must have strong knowledge of AD health monitoring, replication, domain controller management, and secure configuration practices.
Active TS/SCI clearance with a favorable polygraph.
