About the role:
We are looking for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to lead the architectural evolution of our safety systems. You will move our ML stack from siloed, end-to-end models toward a unified Perception Platform Layer. Your mission is to build the robust infrastructure that translates raw sensor data into real-time, high-stakes decisions, ensuring our models perform reliably across both cloud and edge environments.
This is a remote position for candidates based in the US.

In this role, you will work on the following:
1. Platform Architecture & Unification
- Architect a Unified Perception Layer: Lead the transition from fragmented, task-specific models to a modular perception platform that supports reusable components and downstream safety applications.
- System Design: Design and implement real-time ML systems—from sensor ingestion and tracking to risk reasoning and actuation—ensuring clear interfaces and predictable system behavior.
- Hybrid Deployment: Orchestrate model integration across edge and cloud environments, managing versioning, rollouts, and mission-critical fallback mechanisms.
2. Performance & Reliability Engineering
- Latency Ownership: Own end-to-end latency and reliability for safety-critical pipelines. You will profile, schedule, and optimize messaging and backpressure across the entire stack.
- Observability & Feedback Loops: Build sophisticated monitoring for deployed models to detect drift, false positives/negatives, and latency regressions. You will "close the loop" to ensure production data informs the next iteration of training.
3. Rigorous Evaluation & Safety
- Safety Cases: Develop evaluation frameworks specifically for rare "long-tail" safety events. You will define metrics and build targeted test sets that form the basis for principled ship/no-ship decisions.
- Explainability: Partner with Applied Scientists to ensure research outputs are translated into production code that is not only performant but also debuggable and explainable.
4. Technical Leadership
- Strategic Influence: Shape the system abstractions early in the platform transition to minimize technical debt and maximize future scalability.
- Mentorship: Set the engineering standard for correctness and performance. You will mentor junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of rigorous ML engineering.
Minimum requirements for the role:
- Experience: 6+ years of experience in ML Engineering, with a proven track record of shipping models in production (ideally in safety-critical domains like robotics, automotive, or industrial AI).
- Systems Mastery: Deep understanding of distributed systems, performance profiling, and computer vision.
- Infrastructure Fluency: Experience with Cloud ML workflows (AWS/GCP/Azure) and containerization, paired with an understanding of the constraints of edge hardware.
- Architectural Mindset: You don't just write code; you design systems. You understand the trade-offs between model complexity and operational reliability.
An ideal candidate also has:
- Ph.D. in Computer Science or quantitative discipline (e.g., Applied Math, Physics, Statistics)
- Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) frameworks
- Familiar with deploying and managing ML applications in cloud environments, as well as leveraging cloud-based services for data storage, processing, and inference
- Experience building end-to-end ML applications from scratch
The range of annual base salary for full-time employees for this position is below. Please note that base pay offered may vary depending on factors including your city of residence, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. About the role:
We are looking for a Mobile Engineering Manager to lead two high-impact mobile pods:
- Mobile Platform – Owns cross-platform strategy, build systems, CI/CD, performance optimization, reliability, observability, and architectural evolution.
- Mobile Product – Owns end-customer feature development (e.g., messaging, workflows, dashboards) with high product velocity and quality.
This leader will balance long-term architectural rigor with near-term product delivery, ensuring Samsara’s mobile apps are scalable & performant while providing intuitive & delightful experiences for customers operating in the physical world.
This role requires strong technical judgment, cross-functional leadership, and the ability to build a culture of engineering excellence. This role reports to the VP, Engineering and supports 13-14 engineers
This is a remote position open to candidates residing in the US or Canada.
In this role, you will own:
1. Mobile Platform Strategy
- Define and evolve cross-platform strategy (Native vs React Native vs Compose/KMP)
- Improve build systems, CI times, and developer productivity
- Establish performance SLOs (launch time, page load, memory, crash-free sessions)
- Drive architectural simplification and reduce tech fragmentation
- Introduce AI-assisted SDLC tooling where impactful
- Ensure mobile scalability for IoT-heavy, real-time use cases
2. Product Delivery Excellence
- Lead customer-facing feature development (e.g., messaging, fleet workflows)
- Partner closely with Product & Design to deliver high-quality mobile experiences
- Balance feature velocity with platform health
- Drive disciplined engineering practices (PR reviews, testing, observability)
3. Team Leadership & Talent Development
- Manage ~13-14 engineers across 2 pods
- Hire and retain high-performing mobile engineers
- Develop senior ICs and future tech leads
- Build a culture of ownership, accountability, and technical rigor
- Coach engineers to improve system design and execution skills
4. Operational & Execution Excellence
- Establish measurable KPIs:
- Build time; CI stability; Crash-free rate; App startup latency; Feature cycle time
- Ensure predictable sprint delivery
- Improve incident response and reliability practices
- Maintain high engineering quality standards
5. This is not just a people manager. This is a technical EM who:
- Can debate architecture credibly with Staff engineers
- Knows when to invest in platform vs product
- Has led large migrations or platform rebuilds
- Understands both developer experience and customer experience deeply
Minimum requirements for the role:
1. Technical Leadership
- 8+ years of experience in mobile engineering (Android/iOS)
- 3+ years of engineering management experience
- Deep experience in at least one native stack (Android or iOS)
- Strong understanding of cross-platform tradeoffs
- Experience improving performance (memory, startup, network, UI responsiveness)
- Familiarity with modern mobile CI/CD systems
2. Organizational Impact
- Proven track record leading platform modernization initiatives
- Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
- Experience managing multi-team technical migrations
- Strong written communication (RFCs, technical strategy docs)
3. Leadership Traits

About the role:
We are the Platform team responsible for building foundational systems that drive the Samsara software products. Examples include Alerts, Workflows, Notifications, Reports, User Management, Roles and Permissions, Billing and Invoice etc. We are looking for a Staff Engineer to help us spearhead the technical direction for the team. As a Staff Engineer at Samsara, you will be a technical leader that brings fresh ideas and expertise to guide the team’s technical design and architecture and enable increasingly complex features and customer use cases. You will work on specific projects critical to Samsara’s needs alongside other highly-skilled Samsara engineers and push Samsara’s technical capabilities forward.

In this role, you will:
- Drive technology choices, implementing services, and/or establishing architectural patterns that have a broad and lasting impact on Samsara's platform.
- Identify opportunities and initiate strategic conversations to influence the direction of platform technology and engineering culture
- Architect, design, and develop software that enables Samsara to operate at scale
- Lead teams in delivering products and capabilities that contribute to Samsara’s products and revenue.
- Deliver impact by solving the hardest technical problems and enabling products to reach the market quickly and successfully with high quality.
- Keep a platform first approach while collaborating with our infrastructure and product teams to build products, tools and solutions.

Minimum requirements for the role:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent practical experience
- 8+ years of experience in software design, development, and algorithm related solutions with at least 2 of those years in an architect or leadership role
- Stellar programming/coding fundamentals
- 4+ year of experience building large scale distributed systems
- 4+ years experience leading cross-organization projects
An ideal candidate also has:
- Mastery in data modeling and full-stack application architecture at a massive scale
- Programming mastery in Go, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, C/C++, or other similar languages
- Expertise working on large-scale enterprise software applications
- Demonstrated ability to ship production-quality software in a dynamic environment
- Expert level knowledge of at-scale stream processing decision engines

About the role:
The Samsara AI team builds end-to-end AI solutions for our customers as well as core ML infrastructure for Samsara. As a Staff Machine Learning Engineer, you will be working with petabyte-scale sensor, diagnostic, video, and text data to solve critical problems for Physical Operations customers, globally. You will work closely with ML Engineers and Scientists, as well as full-stack and firmware engineers to deliver core product features, services, and optimizations.
This is a remote position open to candidates residing in the United States. This position requires travel up to 5% of the time. Relocation assistance will not be provided for this role.

In this role, you will:
- Lead design and implementation of critical AI product initiatives on Edge devices.
- Develop both tactical AI solutions as well as more strategic and longer term research.
- Work with petabyte-scale data from customer operations including text, transactions, diagnostics, sensor, camera, and location data.
- Partner across business units to explore and prototype new AI experiences and optimize the ML model performance on edge devices.
- Stay connected to industry and academic research and adopt novel technology that suits Samsara’s needs.

Minimum requirements for the role:
- 8+ years experience as a Machine Learning Engineer.
- Profound experience in optimizing ML models and systems for Edge compute constraints.
- Proficient with Spark, Ray, or a similar framework.
- Coding in python or similar.
- Coding in C++ or Rust.
- Strong functional knowledge of the iterative machine learning product development process.
- Experienced in developing and shipping production code at large scale.
- Ability to distill informal or ambiguous customer and business requirements into crisp problem definitions.
- Proven ability to communicate verbally and in writing to technical peers and leadership teams with various levels of technical knowledge.
- Experience coaching and mentoring ML Engineers.
An ideal candidate also has:
- Proficiency in self-serving with data for experiments and model training at scale.
- An established record of successful high impact deliveries in AI.
- Deep knowledge in state of the art Computer Vision and multi-model models.
The range of annual base salary for full-time employees for this position is below. Please note that base pay offered may vary depending on factors including your city of residence, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. About the role:
Samsara Technologies India Private Limited is looking for a Staff Engineer to join the Platform & Infrastructure organization, which is responsible for building foundational systems that drive software products. Examples include areas such as Reporting/Automations/Enterprise capabilities to support our rapidly growing footprint of customers and foundational infrastructure capabilities such as container orchestration/data storage/real-time data ingestion/GraphQL execution to power Samsara engineering.
As a Staff Engineer at Samsara, you will help us spearhead the technical direction for the organization, be a technical leader that brings fresh ideas and expertise to guide the team’s technical design and architecture and enable increasingly complex features and customer use cases. Minimum requirements for the role:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent practical experience
- 12+ years of experience in software design, development, and algorithm-related solutions with at least 4 of those years in an architect or leadership role
- Stellar programming/coding fundamentals
- 4+ years of experience building large-scale distributed systems
- 4+ years of experience leading cross-organization projects
- Expertise working with web services at a massive scale deployed on Cloud providers such as AWS, GCP or Azure
An ideal candidate also:
- Has 15+ years of relevant industry experience in software development
- Enjoys leading and mentoring engineers to think about systems - their life cycles, edge cases, and failure modes
- Enjoys fostering collaboration among engineers with different focuses (frontend, mobile, firmware, vision, ML)
- Is an expert in writing high-quality, performant, and maintainable code in a modern programming language

In this role, you will:
- Support planning and execution for upcoming hardware product launches, ensuring cross-functional alignment across teams.
- Perform financial analysis to identify key drivers of hardware costs and provide data-driven recommendations for margin improvement.
- Analyze Integrated Business Planning process and surface additional opportunities to leverage systems and streamline work.

- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills including ability to synthesize findings into a digestible format for various stakeholders.
- 2+ years of relevant work experience in finance, data analytics, or operations.

We are looking for a visionary, tech-forward leader to architect and scale our global payroll engine. In this role, you won’t just manage a function; you will define the strategic roadmap for how Samsara compensates a world-class, global workforce.

- Drive Strategic Payroll Architecture: Provide visionary leadership for our global payroll operations, utilizing data-driven metrics to monitor and relentlessly improve the efficiency and impact of our delivery model.

About the role:
The Director of Equity at Samsara is more than a technical lead—they are a cultural steward. By bridging the gap between complex financial instruments and the human impact on our employees' lives, you will lead a team of high-performers to maintain the most transparent and automated equity ecosystem in the industry.
This remote position is open to candidates residing in the US except for Alaska, Austin, California, Chicago, Connecticut, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Washington, and Washington DC metro.
In this role, you will:
- Own the day-to-day administration of all equity platforms, plans, and awards, including grants, vesting, sales, and ESPP activity.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Equity professionals, driving operational excellence and accuracy.
- Build and scale processes, systems, and controls to support a global, publicly traded company, including compliance with SEC, IRS, audit, SOX, and foreign equity requirements.
- Serve as the company’s equity plan expert, providing strategic guidance to Legal, Finance, Accounting, People, and executive leadership.
- Partner with Legal and Accounting to support equity and cap table reporting, including 83(b) elections and SEC disclosures (Forms 3, 4, 5, 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and proxy statements).
- Maintain and optimize equity systems accuracy, including ownership of Schwab Equiview and Computershare platforms.
- Provide equity data, analysis, and insights for compensation strategy discussions, board materials, and committee presentations.
- Own and evolve employee equity education, communications, and tools to drive understanding and engagement across the organization.
- Monitor compliance with U.S. and international regulations regarding income, tax withholding, securities and reporting for stock awards.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to maintain scalable processes ensuring equity data accuracy, including record-keeping, reporting, reconciliation, and audits.
- Drive innovation by identifying and implementing automation opportunities that improve efficiency and scalability across equity operations.
- Lead global education efforts related to equity compensation, including financial wellness initiatives, plan design changes, and understanding of equity value and plan terms.
- Foster a collaborative team environment passionate about professional development, setting world-class standards, and providing Tier 1 support.
- Deliver outstanding service to internal collaborators by addressing inquiries from management, partners, and employees with responsiveness and integrity.

Minimum requirements for the role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in equity administration, including 5+ years managing and leading teams.
- Deep technical knowledge of equity compensation vehicles (ISOs, NSOs, RSUs, PSUs, ESPP) and accounting under ASC 718.
- Extensive experience supporting SEC reporting, IRS requirements, audits, SOX compliance, and foreign equity compliance.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Have a growth mindset with the ability to work independently in a fast paced environment and handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Obsesses over customers by providing excellent customer service.
An ideal candidate also has:
- Certified Equity Professional (CEP) designation.

About the role:
This is a founding AI/ML role in Samsara's Supply Chain organization—a rare 0-to-1 opportunity to build AI/ML capabilities from the ground up and own demand forecasting, inventory optimization, and supplier risk modeling end-to-end.
You'll design, develop, and deploy advanced machine learning and statistical models that optimize our global supply chain. From forecasting demand to modeling supply risk using real-time IoT signals, you'll apply cutting-edge techniques to solve complex problems with direct business impact.

- Define the end-to-end AI transformation roadmap for supply chain alongside the SVP of Operations, aligning with company OKRs and executive stakeholders.
- Design, train, validate, and deploy ML models to production (demand forecasting, inventory optimization, supplier risk scoring, cellular spend prediction), ensuring robust MLOps practices and measurable ROI.
- Build predictive models to forecast demand, lead times, and cellular spend across Samsara's global supply network.
- Create novel features using large-scale ERP, IoT, and third-party datasets; build pipelines and ETL jobs to serve models and stakeholders.
- Deliver production-grade code that supports both batch and real-time inference with MLOps best practices.
- Act as the AI liaison to Product, Engineering, Procurement, and Finance—ensuring alignment on data requirements, integration, and change management.
- Drive enhancements to our data infrastructure and analytics platform to support real-time model training, monitoring, and inference at scale.
- Mentor junior scientists through code reviews and collaborative project work.
- Act as a key scientific voice in roadmap planning, experimentation frameworks, and modeling strategy discussions.
- Identify gaps in data, tools, and processes—and lead initiatives to close them.
- Establish governance frameworks, documentation standards, and quality controls for model development, validation, and lifecycle management.
- Partner with Ops management to drive adoption of AI tools, define new processes, and train supply chain teams on insights-driven workflows.

Minimum requirements for the role:
Experience & Education:
- 8+ years in applied data science or ML, ideally in supply chain, operations research, logistics, or manufacturing.
- Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, EE, OR, or related technical field.
Core ML & Technical Skills:
- Expert in statistical modeling and ML: time series forecasting, optimization, anomaly detection, causal inference.
- Strong Python coding skills and fluency in SQL; proven experience developing and deploying production ML systems.
- Proficiency in MLOps practices: automated testing, CI/CD, model versioning, monitoring, performance tracking.
- Experience building real-time inference pipelines and managing GPU/TPU resources for training at scale.
- Familiar with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).

- Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of supply chain concepts (S&OP, IBP, safety stock, EOQ), ERP systems (SAP, NetSuite, E2DP, Propel), and inventory optimization theory. Ideal background in consumer electronics or B2B hardware manufacturing.
