The 3LS Quality Engineer serves as the highest technical escalation authority within the engineering team, partnering with R&D, ODMs, and silicon vendors to resolve complex, business-critical issues from global support organizations. This role involves performing deep root cause analysis and system-level debugging across hardware, operating systems, drivers, firmware, BIOS, and applications to provide permanent solutions for systemic defects. The engineer will utilize advanced techniques such as log analysis, crash dump analysis, signal tracing, and performance profiling to ensure product stability. Key technical requirements include proficiency in WinDbg, Windows Performance Analyzer, PowerShell, and command-line tools, alongside a deep understanding of Windows internals and PC hardware components like CPU, memory, and storage. The role focuses on resolving high-pressure field issues and influencing product design based on findings from telemetry data and kernel/user-mode dump files.
Act as the final technical escalation authority for complex field issues that cannot be resolved by lower-level support.
Perform system-level debugging across hardware, operating systems, drivers, firmware, and applications to isolate root causes.
Utilize advanced tools like WinDbg and Windows Performance Analyzer for log analysis, crash dumps, and signal tracing.
Drive end-to-end root cause analysis to define corrective and preventive actions for systemic product issues.
Partner with R&D, ODMs, and silicon vendors to resolve design and integration defects.
Validate hardware, firmware, and software fixes to ensure stability and production readiness.
Document escalations using structured methodologies such as 8D reports and defect tracking systems.
Influence product design and firmware behavior based on findings from field data and trends.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Electrical, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
5+ years of progressive experience in quality engineering, system debugging, reliability engineering, enterprise support, or platform engineering.
Expert-level capability in system-level debugging across hardware, operating systems, drivers, firmware, and applications.
Proficiency with WinDbg and Windows Performance Analyzer (WPA).
Deep understanding of system architecture including BIOS/UEFI, OS internals, and firmware interactions.
Experience analyzing system logs, telemetry data, and kernel/user-mode dump files.
Experience working with OEM/ODM ecosystems and silicon vendors.
Certifications such as Microsoft Windows Client/Server or CompTIA A+ (preferred).
