Wireless Systems Engineer

What you'll do

• Design and optimize MAC and PHY layer algorithms for link adaptation, power control, and Doppler tracking.
• Develop complex MAC layer scheduling algorithms that manage multiple beams under QoS and latency constraints.
• Analyze inter-cell and inter-beam interference to propose solutions via beam planning or signal processing.
• Conduct link-level and system-level simulations to evaluate the performance of various protocol stack algorithms.
• Collaborate with software engineers to implement and deploy wireless algorithms to orbit.
• Qualify algorithm performance in production using KPI analysis, telemetry data, and UE log analysis.
• Create high-fidelity models for non-terrestrial wireless systems utilizing 3GPP defined protocols.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or a STEM discipline.
• 1+ years of engineering experience, including internship or project experience.
• 5+ years of professional engineering experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience with MAC and PHY layer protocols and algorithms used in cellular base stations.
• Experience working with 3GPP protocols.
• Proficiency in MATLAB and working knowledge of Python and/or C/C++.
• Ability to perform link level simulations and system level simulations for communication networks.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, or eligible for required export control authorizations.
