As a Wireless Senior Firmware Engineer within the Cellular Technologies Software group, you will develop and integrate embedded software for advanced features, algorithms, and protocols on new compute, baseband, and RF platforms. You will manage the full development lifecycle to create systems for technology characterization, operator trials, and industry showcases. Your daily work involves optimizing performance and timing constraints in real-time embedded systems while creating high-quality technical documentation and collaborating with cross-functional hardware and system teams. The role requires proficiency in C/C++ programming, multi-threading, and OS fundamentals to solve complex problems in wireless communication. You will work on advanced technologies including 5G NR and 802.11, potentially implementing signal processing algorithms on GPUs and DSPs. This position focuses on the research and development of next-generation wireless systems and infrastructure for emerging communication standards.
Design, develop, integrate, and maintain embedded software across the full development lifecycle.
Optimize performance and timing constraints in real-time embedded systems.
Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation including design descriptions and architecture specifications.
Implement and optimize signal processing algorithms on general purpose and heterogeneous processors like GPUs and DSPs.
Develop device drivers and perform bring-up for new hardware platforms.
Debug complex software issues and perform system performance optimizations.
Research and implement firmware and software to support 6G, 5G NR, and 802.11 technologies.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of experience, Master's degree plus 2 years, or a PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
Proficiency in C/C++ programming.
Understanding of multi-threading and OS fundamentals.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate technical ideas and work status clearly in both verbal and written formats.
Knowledge of wireless communication theory and systems such as 5G NR or 802.11 (preferred).
Experience implementing and optimizing signal processing algorithms on general purpose and heterogeneous processors including GPUs and DSPs (preferred).
Experience in complex software debugging, system performance optimization, device driver development, and bringing up new hardware platforms (preferred).
