As a Software Engineer III on the Data Services team, you will build and operate highly available, scalable distributed and SQL platform capabilities for mission-critical enterprise services. You will design, build, and maintain backend services and platform APIs using Java and Python to support NoSQL products like Cosmos and Spanner, as well as SQL products like Postgres across public and private clouds. Your daily responsibilities include provisioning, tuning, and upgrading these systems while developing reusable automation for lifecycle management, monitoring, and capacity planning. You will drive DevOps and SRE practices, including CI/CD, observability, and incident triage. What we're looking for
Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years’ experience in software engineering.
Option 2: 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
Proficiency in object-oriented programming, API design, and backend engineering.
Strong experience with Java and Python.
Experience maintaining, managing, and supporting applications with knowledge of distributed and SQL systems (Cosmos, Spanner, and Postgres).
Expertise in CI/CD practices, automation scripting, telemetry implementation, and production troubleshooting.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and mentoring junior engineers.
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area (preferred).
Knowledge of implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards and assistive technologies (preferred).
