The Tech Project Manager works with business partners to identify and implement various technical projects, including broad-based information systems, full life-cycle application development, enterprise applications, and data warehouse planning. This role involves managing projects of significant size and complexity by directing system analysts, software designers, and programmers to achieve specific objectives. Key responsibilities include developing project charters, communication management plans, work plan structures, and deployment plans. The successful candidate will utilize project management, documentation, and reporting tools to track budgets, manage issue logs, and monitor ROI throughout the project lifecycle. Applicants must possess a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Computer Science and five years of experience in project management, specifically focusing on complex systems development and navigating matrix environments to resolve conflicts and manage resources effectively.
Manage technical projects exceeding $1M in size or complexity, including enterprise applications and data warehouses.
Direct system analysts, software designers, and programmers to determine the best methods for achieving project objectives.
Develop project charters, communication plans, work structures, and detailed project schedules.
Identify and prioritize scope changes while facilitating the formal approval process.
Secure necessary skill sets and manage expectations with resource managers and team members.
Track and manage project time, budget, and ROI throughout the entire project lifecycle.
Develop testing strategies and conduct formal project close-out activities.
Prepare and participate in quality review checkpoints to secure necessary approvals.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Five years of project management experience in broad-based information systems, full life-cycle application development, enterprise applications, or data warehouse planning.
Two years of experience spent working in a lead role on one or more projects.
Experience creating an effective team environment, building relationships, negotiating, solving problems, and resolving conflicts.
Experience managing resources in a matrix environment and communicating effectively at all levels of an organization.
Experience working with project management, documentation, and reporting tools.
Ability to report to the Mason, OH location at least 3-4 days per week.
