Systems Engineer, Product Platform Tools

What you'll do

• Design, implement, and operate backend services, infrastructure, APIs, and integrations for the internal support and admin platform.
• Partner with engineering teams to onboard their support and admin applications onto the platform.
• Translate operational needs from non-engineering stakeholders like Support, Legal, and Security into platform capabilities.
• Own and improve the platform's security, authorization posture, and compliance standards at scale.
• Navigate legacy codebases to make improvements that reduce operational toil and increase platform reliability.
• Participate in on-call rotations, respond to production incidents, and lead post-incident reviews.
• Contribute to platform observability, developer experience, and engineering standards for all dependent teams.

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of professional experience building and operating production backend services at enterprise or large-scale organizations.
• Strong proficiency in Go and/or TypeScript.
• Demonstrated experience in platform engineering, internal tooling, or support/admin systems supporting non-technical end users.
• Strong understanding of authorization and authentication systems such as OAuth 2.0, OIDC, JWT, OPA/Rego, and RBAC.
• Advanced, hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker in production environments.
• Strong database experience including schema design, query optimization, and high-availability operations.
• Proven ability to communicate technical details to non-technical stakeholders across engineering, Security, and Legal teams.
• Export control laws, including the U.S. Export Administration Regulations.
