As a Systems Development Engineer, Leo Avionics Test Software, you will join a team dedicated to designing and delivering test and provisioning systems for satellite bus avionics and hardware subsystems. You will develop software for automated hardware test execution and create automation software for lab equipment including spectrum analyzers, signal generators, electronic loads, power supplies, network analyzers, high-speed oscilloscopes, and test chambers. Your daily responsibilities include managing continuous delivery pipelines to ensure reliability, participating in cross-disciplinary system design, and providing operational support to resolve production and testing issues. You will utilize modern programming languages such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, or Rust within Linux/Unix environments. The role focuses on solving complex problems regarding the development, debugging, and production testing of avionics systems for a low Earth orbit satellite network.

What you'll do

Develop software for automated hardware test execution in collaboration with design and operations teams.
Create automation software for lab equipment including spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and power supplies.
Support the development and deployment of test systems for development, debugging, and production testing.
Provide operational support for software used throughout the development and production testing phases.
Manage and develop continuous delivery pipelines to streamline software development and ensure reliability.
Participate in multi-disciplinary software design to build confidence in satellite avionics performance.
Resolve technical issues to unblock production and testing processes across various teams.

What we're looking for

Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or lawfully admitted refugee/asylee for export control compliance.
At least 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure.
Proficiency in at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, or Rust.
Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and build processes.
Experience with distributed systems at scale.
At least 3 years of experience designing or architecting new and existing systems using design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
