As a Systems Design/Architecture Engineer 5, you will join the team to design complex frameworks and technical platforms while defining system specifications for hardware and software compatibility. You will build robust technical artifacts including automation tools, secure-by-default templates, and reference architectures to ensure seamless engineering processes. Your daily work involves developing comprehensive system architectures covering identity and access management, network segmentation, application security, and data protection. To succeed, you must possess expertise in distributed computing environments, applied cryptography, cloud security across AWS, Azure, and GCP, and threat modeling methods. You will also evaluate new technologies, mentor junior engineers, and establish architectural standards across product teams. This role addresses critical infrastructure challenges by creating scalable, secure systems that resolve design weaknesses and provide a foundational architecture for next-generation initiatives across multiple products.
Design complex frameworks, system specifications, and technical architectures for hardware and software compatibility.
Develop robust technical artifacts including automation tools, secure-by-default templates, and reference architectures.
Build comprehensive system architectures covering identity management, network segmentation, application security, and data protection.
Establish and enforce architectural standards across multiple product teams.
Evaluate new technologies and recommend strategic investments based on their relevance to the company stack.
Conduct research to benchmark industry guidelines and provide actionable insights for technical improvements.
Perform threat modeling to identify vulnerabilities and lead actions that improve security metrics.
Mentor junior engineers through design reviews, office hours, and structured mentoring programs.
What we're looking for
Must have 15+ years of experience in systems development, architecture engineering, or a related field.
Must have at least 10 years of experience in distributed computing environments.
Must demonstrate proficiency in at least three core domains including identity and access management, cryptography, network security, cloud security, application security, or secure SDLC.
Must possess practical experience with threat modeling methods.
Must have a track record of crafting impactful architecture decisions that others successfully implemented.
Must possess strong communication skills to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical collaborators.
Must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
Preferred certifications include CISSP, CISM, OSCP, or cloud security certifications.
