PhD AI Research Intern

What you'll do

• Design and run experiments to explore open research questions in areas like generative AI or reinforcement learning.
• Develop and prototype novel models, algorithms, or methods while evaluating them against relevant baselines.
• Synthesize current AI research literature to inform technical approaches and identify promising research directions.
• Collaborate with scientists and engineers to connect research findings to real product and customer impact.
• Document methodology, findings, and code clearly for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Present research work to various stakeholders across the organization.
• Contribute to publication-quality write-ups of research findings where applicable.

What we're looking for

• Must be currently enrolled in a PhD program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
• Expected graduation date must be after the internship ends.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for the duration of the internship.
• Experience in one area of AI such as NLP, LLM, generative AI, reinforcement learning, or algorithmic foundations of optimization.
• Established track record of publication, ideally with first-author papers at top-tier AI conferences.
• Experience developing and debugging in Python with TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar frameworks.
• Experience disseminating scientific work in English through paper submissions and conference presentations.
