MS Fraud & Risk Intern

What you'll do

• Translate business questions into verifiable hypotheses and generate recommendations based on experimental findings.
• Analyze data to identify fraudulent behavior, trends, and risks to inform policy decisions.
• Develop dashboards using disparate data sources to deliver accurate metrics on risk activity and operating effectiveness.
• Curate and standardize risk-related datasets for company-wide fraud analysis.
• Use SQL, Python, Tableau, and spreadsheets to manipulate and visualize large datasets for policy discussions.
• Create clear diagrams to document data flows and business processes.
• Validate the integrity and quality of data required for performing analysis.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver data insights that inform critical business decisions.

What we're looking for

• You must be currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program with an expected graduation date after the internship ends.
• You must be working toward a Bachelor’s Degree in a Quantitative Field or have commensurate experience.
• A Master’s degree is preferred.
• You must have strong business acumen and exceptional analytical ability with 1-2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in Fraud Prevention or Risk is preferred.
• You must have advanced SQL and coding skills to perform data profiling, segmentation, and aggregation.
• Experience with statistical analysis to justify policy recommendations is preferred.
• Significant experience with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, Vertica) is preferred.
• You must have working experience with data analytics and visualization tools like Excel, Python, Tableau, or QlikView.
• You must have outstanding communication skills to negotiate, prioritize, and build consensus across technical and non-technical teams.
