As a Storage Engineer at Adyen’s Platform Engineering team in Chicago, you will design and manage data storage systems to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance. Your daily tasks include deploying SAN, NAS, DAS, and object storage solutions, monitoring system health, performing capacity planning, and implementing disaster recovery strategies. You will also automate storage management using scripting or infrastructure-as-code tools and collaborate with other engineering teams on upgrades and integrations. The ideal candidate has 3-5+ years of experience in Linux systems administration with a focus on Ceph, proficiency in shell scripting, Python, Puppet, or Ansible, and hands-on experience with enterprise storage solutions like Purestorage, NetApp, and cloud-based services such as AWS S3.

Develop strategies for backup, replication, and disaster recovery.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to storage systems.

What we're looking for
3+ years of experience in Linux systems administration with a focus on storage technologies like Ceph.
Expertise in enterprise storage systems including Purestorage, NetApp, EMC, Dell, IBM, and Hitachi.
Strong understanding of RAID, LVM, NFS, iSCSI, multipathing, and file systems (ext4, XFS, ZFS).
Hands-on experience with clustering technologies and cloud storage solutions like AWS S3 and EBS.
Proficiency in shell scripting and automation tools such as Python, Puppet, or Ansible.
Experience with virtualization technologies including VMware or KVM.
