As a Staff Software Engineer on the Cloud Native Storage team at Broadcom, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing features for VMware’s vSphere Kubernetes storage solutions, ensuring reliable operation across thousands of enterprise environments. Your responsibilities include managing the lifecycle of Kubernetes workload clusters, enabling seamless integration with vSAN datastores, and addressing complex challenges such as distributed storage control-plane design and resiliency in large-scale systems. You will work primarily with Go or C++ to deliver high-quality features while mentoring a team of engineers and collaborating closely with product management and other technical teams. Ideal candidates have at least 8 years of experience building scalable distributed systems, deep knowledge of Kubernetes infrastructure, and expertise in container storage interfaces (CSI) and Linux internals.

What you'll do
Lead the design and implementation of distributed systems for Kubernetes storage control planes.
Ensure reliable operation of Kubernetes storage control planes across thousands of enterprise environments.

Serve as a technical mentor and provide day-to-day direction to a group of engineers.

What we're looking for
Minimum 8 years of experience in building highly scalable distributed systems.
Strong foundational knowledge in data structures and algorithms.

Hands-on experience with Kubernetes-based systems (preferred).
Deep understanding of Kubernetes control plane architecture and API extensions.
