Staff Systems SW Engineer – Sensors Software will join the QCT sensors group to develop software tools and user interfaces supporting sensor technology research, development, and validation. The role involves designing robust interfaces, managing application states, and integrating frontend components with backend data processing services. Key responsibilities include implementing sensor signal processing and machine learning algorithms across various embedded SOCs, debugging C code, and performing DSP fixed point algorithm implementations and quantization for ML models. The candidate must demonstrate proficiency in C, Python, and MATLAB, with familiarity with RTOS and multi-threaded programming. You will architect software frameworks using Model-View-Controller and event-driven patterns while prototyping on reference hardware. This work supports sensor applications in smartphones, automotive, and IoT devices, balancing performance, memory, power, and complexity.
Implement sensor signal processing and machine learning algorithms across various embedded SOCs.
Debug, verify, and optimize C code for MATLAB and Python signal processing algorithms.
Implement MATLAB-coded algorithms into C for production use.
Perform DSP fixed-point algorithm implementations and quantization for machine learning models.
Architect and implement software frameworks using MVC, event-driven, and component-based patterns.
Prototype software and tools on reference hardware platforms.
Document software architecture designs and implementation flows.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
Proficiency in C, Python, and MATLAB.
Ability to implement MATLAB-coded algorithms in C.
Familiarity with RTOS and multi-threaded programming environments.
Experience in implementing digital signal processing and machine learning algorithms in C/C++ (preferred).
Hands-on experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow (preferred).
