Staff Software Engineer, Marketplace Segmentation

What you'll do

• Define and drive the long-term technical strategy and architecture for the Marketplace Segmentation domain.
• Lead large, ambiguous initiatives that span multiple engineering teams to achieve marketplace efficiency and growth.
• Provide deep technical expertise and mentorship to senior and staff engineers to elevate the team's technical bar.
• Identify and solve fundamental technical challenges within matching, pricing, and user experience systems.
• Architect highly scalable, resilient, and performant systems to handle massive real-time transaction volumes.
• Drive alignment on complex technical topics with Product, Data Science, and Executive leadership.
• Establish and advocate for best practices in system design, coding, testing, and operational excellence.

What we're looking for

• 8+ years of professional experience building scalable, fault-tolerant products or platforms.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Go, C/C++, Java, Python, or JavaScript.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
• Exceptional expertise in designing and building complex, mission-critical distributed systems at internet scale.
• Demonstrated ability to drive technical vision and strategy by translating business objectives into technical roadmaps.
• Outstanding communication, influence, and collaboration skills to articulate complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong commitment to mentorship and experience shaping the careers of other senior engineers.
• Advanced degree in distributed computing, system performance, or machine learning (preferred).
