Staff Software Engineer, Data Authoring

What you'll do

• Build and extend Minerva's core services, including the query rewriting service.
• Scope and deliver solutions for loosely defined problems by partnering with internal users.
• Own the design, implementation, testing, and on-call responsibilities for built systems.
• Track semantic layer techniques and database engine capabilities to inform platform priorities.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to make data easier to query and use.
• Drive high-impact workstreams to help users define and consume trustworthy business metrics.

What we're looking for

• 9+ years of hands-on software engineering experience building and deploying production applications and services.
• Deep proficiency in at least one modern general-purpose language such as Java, Kotlin, Scala, Go, Python, or TypeScript.
• Experience working on data platforms or data tooling with an understanding of data user needs.
• Demonstrated ability to independently scope and drive ambiguous, cross-team projects from design through launch.
• Strong command of OOP, API design, and distributed systems patterns.
• Strong communication skills and experience working across complex team and system interfaces.
• Experience with experimentation platforms (preferred).
• Experience with metrics, semantic layer, BI, or analytics platforms (preferred).
