Staff Software Engineer AI, Platform

What you'll do

• Build scalable GenAI infrastructure using foundational language and vision models to power next-generation product experiences.
• Expand the ML platform to improve the productivity of over 200 ML engineers and data scientists.
• Create scalable human and AI labeling infrastructure to power data-driven product features.
• Develop solid data foundations for core product roadmap items like Categories.
• Utilize open-source technologies including Ray, MLFlow, Tensorflow, PyTorch, LangChain, Airflow, Spark, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Partner with Customer Support, Search Relevance, and Trust & Safety teams to deliver high-impact product wins.

What we're looking for

• 9+ years of industry experience or relevant academic experience.
• Solid understanding of engineering and infrastructure best practices.
• Strong coding skills in Python, Java, or equivalent.
• Strong experience and knowledge of distributed systems.
• Industry experience building end-to-end Machine Learning Platforms (preferred).
• Experience developing and productionizing machine learning models (preferred).
• Experience with Kubernetes, Spark, Docker, and Airflow (preferred).
• Must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity.
