As a Staff Operations Engineer - Hybrid Cloud Networking, you will join a technical team focused on advancing cloud networking capabilities for internal systems and external customer experiences. You will take ownership of complex infrastructure challenges across hybrid environments, designing scalable, secure, and reliable platforms. Your daily responsibilities include creating Azure networking solutions like hub/spoke, Virtual WAN, VPN, and ExpressRoute while establishing cloud-native architecture standards. You will lead Infrastructure-as-Code initiatives using Terraform, develop automation with scripting languages like PowerShell, and manage CI/CD pipelines via Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions. The role requires expertise in DNS, routing, and telemetry to improve platform reliability. You will also mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and implement governance frameworks. This position addresses the technical challenge of building secure, high-performing hybrid cloud infrastructure within a complex financial services environment.
Design and manage hybrid cloud infrastructure including Azure networking solutions like hub/spoke, Virtual WAN, VPN, and ExpressRoute.
Establish and evolve cloud-native networking architectures and standards to meet scalable business needs.
Lead Infrastructure-as-Code initiatives using Terraform and develop automation scripts for network management.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions to streamline software releases.
Implement security-first engineering practices, including landing zones and policy guardrails, to ensure regulatory compliance.
Enhance platform reliability by developing telemetry, monitoring systems, and performing advanced troubleshooting through trend analysis.
Create technical documentation including process flows, dataflow diagrams, and network topology maps.
Mentor and coach other engineers on Azure networking, automation techniques, and engineering best practices.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
Minimum 7 years of functional experience including Azure and cloud infrastructure environments.
Minimum 2 years of experience in two or more disciplines such as Cloud Computing, Infrastructure Services, or Web and Application Development.
Proven experience designing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting products and systems to production in a team environment.
Technical focus in at least two areas including Azure IaaS/PaaS, SaaS, Hypervisor, Enterprise SANs, M365, or Infrastructure-as-Code.
Advanced experience optimizing and debugging using scripting languages (PowerShell preferred) and Infrastructure as Code.
Advanced knowledge of agile methodologies, lean principles, and building cloud-native environments.
Strong expertise in Azure networking, Terraform, CI/CD platforms, and security controls (preferred); advanced degree or Microsoft certifications (preferred).
