Staff Machine Learning Engineer, Search

What you'll do

• Design and implement intelligent search systems using typeahead, vector search, and ML personalization signals.
• Build and scale multi-layer serving architectures for ML and GenAI/LLM models in ambiguous problem spaces.
• Drive the design and evolution of platform capabilities like CLIs, SDKs, and infrastructure automation.
• Own the continuous integration and delivery of production-grade data and ML systems for scalability and cost-efficiency.
• Apply best practices in data security, privacy, governance, and testing frameworks to ensure compliant data products.
• Set engineering standards and mentor junior engineers in system design, reliability, and operational excellence.
• Influence technical strategy and the adoption of ML platform solutions across partner engineering teams.

What we're looking for

• 7+ years of experience developing code in core programming languages like Python or Java.
• 4+ years of experience designing and building scalable software architectures for ML, Search, or LLM workloads.
• 2+ years of experience implementing vector search, semantic search, or embedding-based retrieval systems for production ML or AI.
• 2+ years of experience building platform components and frameworks to improve ML/AI development and deployment efficiency.
• 1+ years of experience driving technical direction, making architectural trade-offs, and influencing engineering decisions across teams.
• 1+ years of experience collaborating cross-functionally with leadership and driving partner teams to adopt platform capabilities.
• 1+ years of experience conducting design reviews and setting engineering standards within a team.
• Experience with data and streaming technologies (Spark, Flink, Kafka, Airflow, Terraform) and cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
