As a Staff Engineer on the Linear Systems team at Warner Bros., you will lead the design and delivery of scalable, cloud-native solutions for advertising technology, supporting thousands of users and billions of ad impressions monthly. Your day-to-day responsibilities include developing API-first services for real-time interoperability across WBD’s advertising stack, modernizing legacy tools into modular applications with 99.99% reliability, building and maintaining ad-serving systems, collaborating with product teams to align technical solutions with business goals, and implementing ETL pipelines and real-time data processing using big data frameworks like Spark and Kafka. You will leverage Java, Scala, or Python, along with expertise in cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure), SQL and NoSQL databases, and microservices architecture to ensure mission-critical platforms are reliable and optimized for scale within the linear advertising domain.

What you'll do

What we're looking for
8+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on AdTech or large-scale distributed systems.
Proficiency in Java, Scala, Python, and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).
Expertise in SQL and NoSQL databases, big data tools like Spark and Kafka.
Strong knowledge of cloud-native development, microservices, and API-first design principles.
Experience modernizing linear advertising workflows into API-driven, cloud-native solutions.
Demonstrated ability to design and operate AI-driven automation systems at scale.
