Staff Engineer - Data Platform Experience

What you'll do

• Lead strategic initiatives to improve how product teams build and operate services on the Observability Data Platform.
• Design and build scalable platform capabilities for cost intelligence, including cloud cost allocation and optimization recommendations.
• Develop operational intelligence and self-service tooling to help engineering teams troubleshoot incidents and improve efficiency.
• Create reusable platform services and developer workflows to increase autonomy while reducing operational complexity.
• Provide technical leadership by influencing architecture, mentoring engineers, and making hands-on code contributions.
• Participate in the on-call rotation to maintain platform reliability and observability.

What we're looking for

• Experience designing and building large-scale SaaS or cloud platforms with deep expertise in distributed systems.
• Strong software architecture and system design skills to lead complex technical initiatives across multiple teams.
• Proficiency in backend technologies including Java and Go.
• Experience with distributed infrastructure such as Kafka and Kubernetes.
• Ability to influence technical direction and collaborate across organizational boundaries without direct authority.
• Experience with observability platforms, internal developer platforms, or operational tooling (preferred).
• Experience with developer productivity solutions or AI-powered engineering workflows (preferred).
