Staff Engineer, Business Systems

What you'll do

• Design and customize NetSuite to support Record-to-Report (R2R) and Order-to-Cash (O2C) accounting processes.
• Develop and maintain SuiteScript, SuiteFlow, SuiteTalk, and RESTlets to automate financial workflows and integrations.
• Translate complex accounting policies into system-enforced controls to ensure SOX, GAAP, and audit compliance.
• Optimize financial close cycles by automating journals, reconciliations, accruals, and consolidations.
• Build and enhance reporting frameworks including saved searches, dashboards, and financial reports for accurate data visibility.
• Oversee integrations between NetSuite and external systems like payroll, banking, CRM platforms, and procurement tools.
• Manage master data governance for the chart of accounts, dimensions, and entity hierarchies.
• Provide technical leadership by mentoring junior engineers and establishing engineering best practices for NetSuite development.

What we're looking for

• 10+ years of NetSuite development and engineering experience focusing on General Ledger and accounting modules.
• Strong knowledge of Order-to-Cash (O2C) and Record-to-Report (R2R) processes including journal entries, reconciliations, and consolidations.
• Proficiency in SuiteScript 1.0/2.0, SuiteFlow, SuiteTalk, REST APIs, and NetSuite integration patterns.
• Demonstrated experience implementing system-enforced financial controls and supporting SOX compliance.
• Solid understanding of US GAAP and accounting workflows.
• Experience with role-based security design, segregation of duties, and audit requirements.
• Experience with global accounting operations (multi-entity, multi-currency, consolidations) (preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience) (preferred).
