Staff Data Engineer

What you'll do

• Translate functional business requirements into technical architecture designs for data components.
• Develop, implement, and maintain high-quality, reusable code using established coding patterns and best practices.
• Provide end-to-end ownership of data products and pipelines while managing technical debt.
• Build automation tools to manage, deploy, and monitor data processes in both batch and real-time modes.
• Write complex queries to extract raw data and implement orchestration techniques to automate extraction logic.
• Conduct comprehensive testing including unit tests, coding standard checks, and security scans.
• Develop troubleshooting procedures to identify and resolve advanced technical issues flagged by testing.
• Ensure all data products comply with security standards, governance principles, and regulatory requirements.

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 2+ years with an Advanced degree, or 0 years with a PhD, or 8+ years of total experience.
• Experience in designing and implementing data pipelines and large-scale data processing jobs (preferred).
• Experience writing, modifying, and reviewing high-quality, testable, and efficient code (preferred).
• Experience developing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests with a focus on automation (preferred).
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using containerization and orchestration tools (preferred).
• Experience monitoring production applications and troubleshooting issues using observability tools (preferred).
• Experience integrating AI or ML services into applications (preferred).
• Experience solving data problems using technologies like Hadoop, Hive, Kafka, Redis, NoSQL, or RDBMS (preferred).
