The Staff AI/ML Platform Engineer joins the Lingo team to design and build a platform that transitions machine learning models from experimentation to production across cloud and device environments. Key responsibilities include enabling data scientists to self-serve training, extending CI/CD pipelines with automated validation gates, and implementing monitoring for data drift and sensor quality. You will utilize Python, Azure ML SDK, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, MLflow, Kubeflow, Docker, and Kubernetes. This role solves the technical challenge of processing high-volume IoT and wearable sensor data while ensuring the platform meets strict security, privacy, and regulatory compliance requirements like HIPAA and GDPR.

What you'll do

  • Define the architecture and roadmap for the AI platform, feature store, training pipelines, and model registry.
  • Connect data lakes and ETL pipelines to ML infrastructure to ensure data lineage from raw sensors to model output.
  • Create self-service templates, tooling, and documentation to enable data scientists to train and deploy models independently.
  • Extend CI/CD pipelines with model-specific stages, automated testing, validation gates, and approval workflows.
  • Implement model monitoring for performance, data drift, and sensor quality with automated alerting and rollback.
  • Build pipelines for packaging and delivering models to mobile and wearable devices.
  • Support the deployment and monitoring of LLM and agentic services, including prompt and model versioning.
  • Ensure the ML platform meets security, privacy, and compliance requirements such as HIPAA and GDPR.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of software or ML engineering experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience deploying ML models on mobile or embedded devices.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure ML SDK, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, MLflow, and Kubeflow.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, containers (Docker, Kubernetes), infrastructure as code, and at least one major cloud platform.
  • Experience with data lakes, streaming or time-series data, feature stores, and model monitoring.
  • Ph.D. or master’s degree in computer science, Machine Learning, or a related field (preferred).
  • Experience in regulated industries, familiarity with medical device standards, or LLM operations (preferred).
