Senior UTM Engineer

What you'll do

• Build and deploy interoperable services that pass rigorous conformance and integration testing against external systems.
• Develop novel path planning and airspace deconfliction algorithms for dynamic, real-world environments.
• Create tools to evaluate and optimize airspace efficiency and utilization.
• Design integrations that translate complex technical system states into actionable information for internal stakeholders.
• Represent the company externally by engaging with peer companies, working groups, and standards bodies.
• Develop software for high-uptime, safety-critical distributed systems using languages like C++, Python, or Go.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, CS, Aerospace, Robotics, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 5+ years of experience in the full lifecycle of distributed systems in aviation, finance, communications, healthcare, or other high-stakes fields.
• Experience building and shipping production services that must interoperate with external systems and pass conformance or certification testing.
• Hands-on experience with path planning, routing, or deconfliction problems in real-world, dynamic environments.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals using languages like C++, Python, or Go for safety-critical and uptime-critical distributed systems.
• Ability to communicate technical system states to non-technical stakeholders and represent the company in industry forums or standards working groups.
• Experience with airspace management, air traffic control, or UAS traffic management (UTM) concepts and systems (preferred).
• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
