Flight Test Engineer

What you'll do

• Plan, scope, and execute flight tests to evaluate vehicle performance, control behavior, and system reliability.
• Translate technical requirements into test objectives and manage feedback loops between engineering and flight operations.
• Analyze flight test data to provide actionable insights on vehicle dynamics and subsystem interactions to design teams.
• Develop and maintain Python and SQL-based tools for flight data visualization and performance assessment.
• Use SIL and HIL environments to validate software updates, control algorithms, and sensor integrations.
• Identify and quantify failures and reliability trends from test data to drive root cause analysis.
• Create test plans, procedures, and reports while maintaining traceability to system-level requirements.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or a related engineering discipline.
• Strong foundation in flight test engineering, including test planning, instrumentation, data reduction, and safe execution.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for data analysis, tooling, and automation.
• Experience with Git-based version control and collaborative software development workflows.
• Familiarity with C++ codebases for reading and reviewing embedded or autonomy code (preferred).
• Experience with electric aircraft systems, including battery modeling or motor performance characterization (preferred).
• Ability to support adjacent disciplines such as aerodynamics, GNC, or wind tunnel testing.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to distill complex data into engineering insights.
