As a Sr. Technical Business Developer for the Amazon Leo team, you will operate at the intersection of business strategy and technology to drive results for a low Earth orbit satellite network. You will identify, evaluate, and negotiate complex deals, including customized design and engineering services agreements with specific technical and business commitments. Your daily responsibilities involve developing negotiation strategies, managing multi-party business models to solve IP ownership barriers, and creating tracking mechanisms for project execution. To succeed, you must leverage technical acumen regarding 5G/3GPP trends and emerging technologies to identify solution acquisition opportunities and reduce costs or risks. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and C-suite executives to influence product direction. The role requires expertise in telecommunications, semiconductor design-consulting, contract manufacturing, and hardware negotiations within the aerospace avionics and mobile communications domains.
Negotiate and secure customized design and engineering services agreements with defined technical and business commitments.
Analyze 5G/3GPP trends to identify opportunities for technology acquisition, capability investment, and cost reduction.
Structure multi-party business models to resolve IP ownership, capability, and operational barriers.
Develop negotiation strategies and lead cross-functional teams to mitigate contractual and operational risks.
Evaluate vendor opportunities to improve costs, reduce risks, and secure favorable commercial or legal terms.
Create processes and tracking mechanisms to manage project execution and ensure timely fulfillment of obligations.
Present proposals and justifications to executive leadership to gain approval for technology business deals.
Deliver regular business reviews to senior leadership regarding project progress and potential roadblocks.
What we're looking for
Candidates must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or granted asylum/refugee status for export control compliance.
Bachelor degree in engineering, business, or a related technical or quantitative field with relevant technical work history.
5+ years of experience developing, negotiating, and executing business agreements.
5+ years of experience solving problems with technology in the Telecommunications industry.
5+ years of experience in strategic technology sourcing or business development within fields like networking, IoT, mobile communications, or aerospace.
3+ years of experience in technology business development, semiconductor design consulting, contract manufacturing, or testing services.
Experience negotiating contracts for hardware and services deals with tier-1 major technology companies.
Proficiency in wireless communication systems, specifically 5G and/or 3GPP related technologies.
