Senior Staff Software Engineer, Control Systems

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and validate new engine control algorithms and strategies for military aviation products.
• Apply control theory and mathematical modeling to design systems with specific operability and cycle optimization behaviors.
• Develop and manage control logic, software, sensors, and hardware algorithms for engine subsystems.
• Create and document technical requirements for engine control systems and software development processes.
• Utilize MATLAB/Simulink and Python to develop engine controls logic and simulation models.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers on engine controls logic development.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all technical data generated for assigned projects in accordance with engineering policies.
• Present and review technical data during program and project reviews.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college.
• Minimum of 8 years' experience related to Aircraft Engine Controls Systems and Software development.
• Must be a U.S. citizen to obtain and maintain a required U.S. Government Security Clearance.
• Must be a U.S. Person (citizen, lawful permanent resident, asylee, or refugee) to access export-controlled information.
• Strong oral and written communication skills (preferred).
• Familiarity with NPSS Simulation tools and Python (preferred).
• Relevant experience developing Engine Controls logic utilizing MATLAB/Simulink environment and related toolset (preferred).
• Relevant experience coaching and mentoring less experienced engineers to develop Engine Controls logic (preferred).
