What you'll do

Set technical direction and architectural standards for a 70+ engineer organization across membership growth and platform infrastructure.
Design large-scale distributed systems for membership lifecycle management, benefits fulfillment, and real-time personalization.
Lead complex, multi-team technical initiatives involving cross-organizational dependencies across Rides, Delivery, and Grocery.
Drive data-informed engineering by building instrumentation and leveraging A/B testing to optimize membership conversion and engagement.
Architect high-availability systems to handle millions of real-time eligibility checks and personalized offer computations with low latency.
Mentor Senior and Staff-level engineers to raise the technical bar and foster a culture of engineering excellence.
Translate business growth objectives into technical roadmaps and architectural decisions in partnership with Product and Data Science.
Review technical designs, code, and documentation to ensure best practices in service architecture and data management.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
10+ years of professional software development experience building and operating production systems.
Strong expertise in backend development, distributed systems, and system design for large-scale, low-latency applications.
Demonstrated ability to lead complex, multi-team technical initiatives with significant cross-organizational dependencies.
Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with Product, Data Science, Marketing, and business stakeholders.
Proven ability to mentor and elevate other engineers, including Senior and Staff-level ICs.
Experience building and scaling membership, subscription, or loyalty platform systems (preferred).
Experience with full-stack product engineering, experimentation frameworks, and languages like Go, Java, or Python (preferred).
