What you'll do

Design and build security infrastructure to protect Starship vehicles, pads, and communications links.
Develop authentication protocols, encryption, and identity management systems.
Implement software integrity solutions including secure boot and code hardening.
Integrate specialized hardware such as hardware security modules and cryptographic accelerators.
Own all aspects of software development including design, testing, and mission integration.
Develop and maintain launch and vehicle software across all required software domains.
Define and lead impactful projects that enable the Starship mission.
Improve software standards and engineering best practices within the Starship Software team.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or science and 4+ years of software development experience.
6+ years of professional software development experience in lieu of a degree.
4+ years of experience in C++, Python, or Rust.
Broad understanding of internet security design and cryptographic primitives.
Experience building or working with real-time embedded systems or distributed computing systems (preferred).
Experience contributing security improvements to complex systems (preferred).
Experience working with special purpose security hardware like cryptographic accelerators or hardware security modules (preferred).
Must be a U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or eligible for Department of State authorization.
