What you'll do

  • Design and develop scalable identity services for authentication, adaptive MFA, and user lifecycle management.
  • Build and maintain high-performance REST and RPC APIs with strict contract enforcement.
  • Lead architectural decisions and design discussions for distributed systems at a global scale.
  • Integrate machine learning and generative AI capabilities into identity workflows for anomaly detection.
  • Implement advanced system observability through logging, metrics, and tracing to improve reliability.
  • Drive "shift-left" testing strategies including integration and contract testing during the development phase.
  • Establish standards for API design, backward compatibility, and schema evolution across the platform.
  • Improve system performance by making measurable gains in latency and scalability.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of proven experience developing software in a professional capacity (longer experience preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience with Java, including concurrency, memory management, and performance optimization.
  • Proficiency in OOP principles, data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns to build testable and maintainable backend code.
  • Experience building production applications using the Spring ecosystem, including Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, and WebFlux.
  • Proficiency in Java web frameworks (e.g., ServiceTalk, Dropwizard, Quarkus) and unit testing frameworks like JUnit or Mockito.
  • Experience designing and shipping high-scale, fault-tolerant, and secure cloud-based distributed systems.
  • Experience in API design including RESTful principles, gRPC, GraphQL, contract-first design, and versioning strategies.
  • Track record of leading software projects as a tech lead and mentoring engineers (preferred).
  • Hands-on experience leveraging GenAI coding tools to accelerate development and improve code quality (preferred).
  • Experience with message-driven/event-driven architectures and messaging systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ (preferred).
  • Experience with caching strategies and in-memory data technologies such as Redis or Memcached (preferred).
