Senior Scientist, Engineering

What you'll do

• Perform hands-on process development and scale-up from laboratory scale to commercial manufacturing.
• Design, plan, and implement advanced experiments for active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) production.
• Manage process development and manufacturing activities at external supplier sites.
• Ensure compliance with cGMP, GDocP, and safety standards during all research activities.
• Conduct risk assessments and investigate deviations in the manufacturing process.
• Utilize statistical experimental design and process modeling to optimize chemical processes.
• Perform organic chemical synthesis and wet chemistry while analyzing resulting data.
• Support pilot plant operations and communicate technical solutions to cross-functional teams.

What we're looking for

• The position requires either a PhD in Chemical/Biochemical Engineering or a BS/MS with at least 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Candidates must have experience in lab-based research, process development, and moving processes from laboratory to pilot or production scale.
• Highly effective communication, collaboration, organization, writing, and time management skills are required.
• Direct experience with pharmaceutical drug substance processing is preferred.
• Familiarity with cGMP and GDocP during pharmaceutical development and production is preferred.
• Experience applying statistical experimental design (Design of Experiments) and/or process modeling is preferred.
• Experience with organic chemical synthesis, wet chemistry, and data analysis is preferred.
• Familiarity with Process Analytical Technologies (PAT) and background in chemical engineering technology development are preferred.
