What you'll do

Manage the stability, scalability, and reliability of a multi-tenant payment platform for Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu.
Drive technical solutions from initial design through implementation and operation for Tier 1 payment services.
Build high-throughput systems capable of processing millions of transactions while maintaining performance and resilience.
Integrate new payment processors and support regional requirements such as SCA.
Implement security best practices for payment data storage, tokenization, and PCI compliance.
Write well-tested, maintainable code and participate in technical design discussions and code reviews.
Identify and execute opportunities for automation, innovation, and the reduction of technical debt.
Support critical production systems through on-call rotations, incident response, and root cause analysis.

What we're looking for

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or a comparable field of study.
Minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
Proven hands-on experience with Scala, Java, or similar programming languages.
Proven hands-on experience with API design, including REST and gRPC.
Hands-on experience with event-driven systems using technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or AWS SNS/SQS.
Exposure to cloud infrastructure, such as AWS, Spinnaker, and Kubernetes.
Demonstrated analytical skills and strong system design skills.
Experience working in functional programming environments, especially with Scala and the Cats Effect ecosystem (preferred).
Experience managing Tier 1 production services, including participation in on-call rotations and incident response (preferred).
Experience mentoring interns and junior engineers (preferred).
