As a Sr Principal Cyber Systems Engineer at Northrop Grumman in San Diego, CA, you will join our product deployment team supporting the initial deployment, operations, and maintenance of complex airborne and terrestrial tactical communication systems across classified laboratories nationwide. Your daily responsibilities include hands-on system installation and integration, configuration and maintenance of secure Linux and Windows operating systems, and development of artifacts for assessment and authorization. You will also collaborate with diverse Integrated Product Teams to enhance technical documentation and improve deployment processes while ensuring compliance with customer requirements through continuous monitoring and reporting. This role requires expertise in IPv4/IPv6 network design, RMF lifecycle management, and experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux administration. Preferred qualifications include knowledge of VMware vSphere environments, Ansible playbooks for automation, and DoD 8570 security certifications. Travel up to 50% is expected as you work on dynamic systems with ongoing upgrades related to diminished manufacture supply and new technologies.
Hands-on experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems including security patching and troubleshooting
Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Government Secret clearance, with potential for Top Secret clearance
Experience in building, racking, stacking, and cabling enterprise server infrastructure within datacenter rack environments
Travel up to 50% of the time for deployment and maintenance activities
