Join our dynamic product deployment team as a Cyber Systems Engineer or Principal Cyber Systems Engineer based in San Diego, CA, where you will support the initial deployment, operations, and maintenance of complex airborne and terrestrial tactical communication systems across classified laboratories nationwide. Your day-to-day responsibilities include hands-on system installation and integration, configuration and maintenance of secure Linux and Windows operating systems, log data collection and reporting, and development of artifacts for security assessments. You’ll work closely with diverse Integrated Product Teams to enhance deployment processes and ensure compliance with DISA STIGs and RMF standards. This role requires proficiency in Red Hat Enterprise Linux administration, Splunk usage, and VMware vSphere management, along with a current Secret clearance and the ability to obtain Top Secret clearance.
Install and integrate complex tactical communication systems in classified labs across the US.
Maintain secure Linux and Windows operating systems by applying patches and hardening measures.
Develop and maintain artifacts necessary for system assessment and authorization processes.
Collect, audit, and generate reports from log data to meet system review requirements.
Travel up to 50% of the time to support deployment and maintenance activities.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or related field with 2+ years of experience or Master’s degree with 0 years of experience.
Experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems including user management, security patching, and troubleshooting.
Familiarity with IPv4/IPv6 network architecture and applying DISA STIGs to secure enterprise operating systems.
Knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF) lifecycle for system assessment and authorization.
Experience using Splunk for log analysis, search querying, and dashboard creation.
Current U.S. Government Secret clearance and ability to obtain Top Secret clearance post-hire.
Must be a US citizen with the ability to maintain Special Access Programs (SAP/SAR) level clearance.
