As a Sr. Principal Cyber Software Engineer, you will join the Northrop Grumman Mission Systems team to provide custom software design and development for CNO tools and techniques. You will be responsible for designing and developing end-to-end data flow and tasking into these specific tools while authoring technical documentation and participating in design, code, and software readiness reviews following government procedures. The role requires proficiency in programming languages such as Assembly, C, C++, Java, Perl, or Python. You will develop applications for Windows using Visual Studio or .NET environments, UNIX systems using make files, or embedded and mobile platforms. Key technical requirements include experience with network sockets programming, packet-level programs, and a deep understanding of IP, TCP, and application-level protocols to solve complex cyber security challenges within the mission's scope.
Design and develop custom software for CNO tools and techniques.
Develop end-to-end data flow and tasking into specialized CNO tools.
Program in languages including Assembly, C, C++, Java, Perl, or Python.
Develop applications for Windows, UNIX, or embedded/mobile platforms.
Author technical documentation and participate in design, code, and software readiness reviews.
Perform network socket programming and develop packet-level programs using IP, TCP, and application protocols.
Deliver technical presentations on assigned projects to stakeholders.
What we're looking for
Must possess a Bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience, a Master's with 6 years, or a PhD with 4 years in computer science, information systems, or network engineering.
Must have experience programming in Assembly, C, C++, Java, Perl, or Python.
Must have experience programming with CNO tools and techniques.
Must have experience in network sockets programming including packet-level programs and expert understanding of IP, TCP, and application-level protocols.
Must have software development experience in Windows using Visual Studio/.NET or Unix/Linux using make files.
Must be able to provide technical presentations and author documentation for design, code, and software readiness reviews.
