You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Thermal, Electrical, and Manufacturing to ensure robust designs that meet stringent quality standards. Key responsibilities include conducting engineering analyses for stress, thermal expansion, and flow dynamics, building prototypes, and developing validation plans. The ideal candidate has a BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering and at least 7 years of experience in designing complex mechanical systems, preferably with liquid cooling expertise. Strong proficiency in CAD software, GD&T, and hands-on testing skills are essential for this role that demands excellence in fluid dynamics, heat transfer principles, and material science knowledge.
Own mechanical design for liquid cooling components including cold plates, manifolds, quick-disconnects, tubing assemblies.
Perform engineering calculations and simulations related to mechanical stress, thermal expansion, fatigue, vibration, flow/pressure, and structural integrity.
Develop detailed CAD models, 2D drawings, GD&T, and tolerance stack-ups for robust, manufacturable designs.
Build prototypes to evaluate fit, finish, assembly, and performance; develop validation plans for pressure tests, leak testing, burst testing.
Collaborate with manufacturing engineering and suppliers on fabrication, machining, brazing, plating, and sealing processes.
What we're looking for
7+ years of experience developing complex mechanical components or assemblies for electro-mechanical systems.
Strong proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, NX) and GD&T standards.
Experience with liquid cooling or fluid systems, including materials selection and behavior.
Hands-on expertise in pressure/leak testing, dimensional inspection, and mechanical validation.
Fundamental technical knowledge in mechanical design, structural evaluation, and fluid dynamics.
Ability to collaborate across teams for system-level integration and manufacturability.
