Senior Manager, IT Data Engineering

What you'll do

• Design and implement scalable, secure data solutions across AWS and Databricks environments.
• Develop and maintain ELT pipelines using Apache Airflow and other cloud services.
• Identify and implement AI-powered automation to improve data workflows and operational efficiency.
• Manage the development of data models and schema designs for efficient storage and retrieval.
• Serve as a technical subject matter expert to provide guidance on complex data inquiries.
• Establish and maintain robust data governance, security, and compliance frameworks.
• Monitor data quality and integrity through automated testing and validation processes.
• Translate business requirements from stakeholders into clear technical architectures and solutions.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Data Engineering, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3–6+ years of experience in Data Engineering with a track record of designing and deploying data pipeline solutions at scale.
• At least 2+ years of experience building complex data science, AI/ML, or large-scale analytics solutions.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL; familiarity with TypeScript, JavaScript, Go, or Rust.
• Experience with TDD, CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions), Docker, and infrastructure-as-code principles.
• Hands-on experience building data and AI platforms on AWS using S3, Glue, Lambda, IAM, Bedrock, and Databricks Unity Catalog.
• Proficiency with Databricks, Apache Airflow, Tableau, and AI coding tools like Claude Code or GitHub Copilot.
• Strong understanding of healthcare data privacy and regulatory requirements including HIPAA, SOC 2, and 21 CFR Part 11.
