Sr Manager IC, FinOps & AI Enablement — Analytics Team serves as an individual contributor role focused on the cost and AI-leverage layer of a large-scale analytics platform. You will own, support, and evolve three production platforms: a data warehousing system, an event ingestion pipeline, and an Airflow orchestration platform. Key responsibilities include building a cost-attribution pipeline for cloud spend, developing a forecast-driven autoscaling control loop for Trino clusters and dbt workers, and creating a production Gen AI system featuring natural-language-to-SQL and RAG capabilities. The technical stack includes Kafka, S3, Hive, Iceberg, Cassandra, Postgres, DynamoDB, ElasticSearch, Aurora MySQL, Trino, Presto, Spark SQL, and Docker/Kubernetes on AWS. You will work daily with Python, SQL, Go, Java, and TypeScript to solve complex infrastructure scaling and cost management problems within a high-volume data environment.
Develop a cost-attribution pipeline to parse Trino query logs and attribute AWS costs to specific reports and models.
Build a forecast-driven autoscaling control loop for shared Trino clusters and dbt worker pools.
Create a production Gen AI system featuring natural-language-to-SQL or RAG over the data catalog.
Manage and evolve three core production platforms including a data warehousing platform, an event ingestion pipeline, and an Airflow orchestration platform.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship for analysts, business analysts, and engineers using the analytics infrastructure.
Perform hands-on software engineering in Python, SQL, Go, and Java to build and maintain backend systems.
Coordinate with Finance and Business Operations teams to reconcile cost data and align strategic priorities.
Participate in an on-call rotation to provide production support for the managed platforms and models.
What we're looking for
At least 6 years of experience in software engineering.
At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud).
10+ years of experience owning and supporting mission-critical applications and platforms in production.
Deep experience with Kafka, streaming technologies, and enterprise data platforms at large scales.
Fluency in JavaScript, Java, HTML/CSS, TypeScript, SQL, Python, and Go.
Experience with container orchestration (Docker and Kubernetes) and various AWS tools and services.
Production Gen AI experience including RAG design, vector/graph stores, and LLM tool-use.
Claude Code fluency for daily use and skill authoring (required).
Master's Degree (preferred).
9+ years of experience in at least one of JavaScript, Java, TypeScript, SQL, Python, or Go (preferred).
4+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, or Microsoft Azure (preferred).
4+ years of experience in open source frameworks (preferred).
1+ years of people management experience (preferred).
2+ years of experience in Agile practices (preferred).
