Senior Database Reliability Engineer

What you'll do

• Own the reliability, scalability, and performance of global database platforms.
• Drive the evolution of database architecture and platform strategy with partners.
• Build self-service and automated capabilities for database deployment and provisioning.
• Establish observability through monitoring, tracing, logging, and actionable insights.
• Lead production event mitigation and perform deep root cause analysis.
• Implement automation and self-healing systems to improve long-term resiliency.
• Provide operational stewardship for business-critical services in a follow-the-sun model.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of experience operating highly available, critical database platforms at scale.
• Hands-on experience with two or more of: MongoDB, Cassandra, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Percona XtraDB Cluster, or MariaDB Galera Cluster.
• Experience operating database platforms on AWS and/or Azure, including managed services like RDS, DynamoDB, and Cosmos DB.
• Proven experience leading database modernization and migration initiatives.
• Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Chef, or Ansible.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, including scaling, replication, consistency models, and multi-region deployments.
• Proficiency in Python or similar scripting languages for automation and operational tooling.
