As a Data Engineer III within the Neovest team, you will serve as a platform administrator for PMS SQL Server databases across production and non-production environments. You will design, maintain, and enhance architectures for on-premises, Azure VM, and Google Cloud Platform instances while ensuring high availability, security, and performance through indexing, replication, and encryption. Your daily work involves managing data pipelines, performing capacity planning, and executing backup and restore processes using PowerShell and automation frameworks. You will utilize T-SQL, Git-based source control, and enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to accelerate design analysis and documentation while ensuring strict data sensitivity compliance. The role focuses on solving complex problems in data collection, storage, and reporting for portfolio management and trading systems, requiring expertise in Always On Availability Groups, Windows Server Failover Clustering, and NoSQL databases.
Administer and manage PMS SQL Server databases across production and non-production environments.
Design and maintain database architectures for on-premises, Azure VM, and Google Cloud Platform instances.
Manage performance tuning, indexing, replication, encryption, and security configurations for database platforms.
Oversee high-availability and disaster recovery solutions including Always On and clustering.
Execute backup and restore processes using SQL Server tools, PowerShell, and automation frameworks.
Implement monitoring, capacity planning, cost optimization, and scaling strategies for database services.
Utilize enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to accelerate data pipeline design, analysis, and documentation.
Apply AI-assisted practices to enhance SDLC quality routines, including test generation and control validation.
What we're looking for
Experience in Microsoft SQL Server engineering and administration.
Strong knowledge of Always On Availability Groups, Windows Server Failover Clustering, backup/restore, and performance tuning.
Advanced T-SQL skills for troubleshooting complex scenarios.
Proficiency with Git-based source control and database change workflows.
Experience managing large fleets of production databases across multiple customer environments.
Demonstrated experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to support data engineering workflows while ensuring data security.
Working knowledge of NoSQL databases and experience with statistical data analysis.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (preferred); experience with financial systems or database DevOps (preferred).
